В домашни условия може да се приготви шипков мармалад по класическата рецепта на баба ми от 3 кг шипки, 1 кг захар, лъжичка лимонтозу.
Шипковият мармалад се консумира както намазан на филия (още по-вкусно, ако филийката е пържена), така и като допълнение към сладкиши, рула, пълнеж на палачинки.
Мармаладът от шипки се използва и при месни блюда, за овкусяване на сосове при направа на кексове. Шипковият мармалад е изключително богат на витамин С, витамин В1 и витамин В2, минерални соли и други полезни вещества.
